But there were vast slopes of vineyards, and in August, under the foliage of the rows the grapes swelled in clusters of a dense already wine-coloured juice.

Summer greets us gradually and already with a little melancholy we welcome the autumn that advances among colors, aromas and flavors typical of this season.
This is an evocative period to visit the vineyards that populate our beloved Euganean Hills, when the inebriating smell of the grapes and the must welcomes and surrounds us.
Many bunches have already been harvested, in Veneto as in all of Italy, due to the drought that has hit us in recent weeks, but the bulk has yet to arrive with a harvest that, as always, will end between September and October. For those wishing to experience it, many winemakers are looking for skilled harvesting hands, otherwise on the tables of the taverns and restaurants typical of the area it is always possible to taste grapes or local wines, like many other products.
Also, the Grape Festival is organized every year in Vò Euganeo, this year in its 71st edition from the 16th to the 18th of September. Events and tastings dedicated to the queen of the vineyard with its different varieties that the expert Euganean winemakers transform into sparkling and light labels like Serprino, intense and deep labels like the red-ones or even aromatic and sparkling labels like the award-winning Fior d’Arancio.
Walking through the vineyards, between one path and another, it is almost a must to stop in one of the different wineries (or even more than one, ed) to taste wines from past harvests, perhaps accompanying them with tasty “spuncetti” (or “cicchetti”, as they are called in Venetian). The Euganean Hills Wine Route can help you in your choice and at the AbanoRitz, being a partner of this latter, we are ready to recommend various routes to discover the typical products of the Euganean area.
