Summer 2026: The magic of opera returns to the Verona Arena.

Every summer, the Arena di Verona is transformed into the world’s most prestigious open-air opera house. A timeless ritual that renews itself year after year, blending the solemnity of history with the emotion of grand opera.

Just over 80 kilometres from the AbanoRitz Hotel Terme, the Arena will welcome thousands of spectators from all over the world for the 103rd Arena Opera Festival, taking place from 12 June to 12 September.

The new season will feature some of the most celebrated titles in the international opera repertoire. Opening the Festival will be a new production of La Traviata. The programme will also include two spectacular versions of Aida: Stefano Poda’s visionary staging and Franco Zeffirelli’s historic production. Other highly anticipated performances include Nabucco, La Bohème, and Turandot, presented on the centenary of the opera in Zeffirelli’s enchanting production.

The 2026 programme will also feature special events such as Roberto Bolle and Friends on 21 July, the monumental performance of Carmina Burana on 13 August, and two new immersive concerts dedicated to Antonio Vivaldi and Niccolò Paganini.

Built in the 1st century AD, the Arena is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world. Its operatic tradition officially began in 1913 with a historic performance of Aida celebrating the centenary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi. Since then, its stone terraces have welcomed thousands of spectators and the greatest names on the international stage every summer.
