Villa dei Vescovi
Villa dei Vescovi is a 16th century Renaissance residence, commissioned by Francesco Vescovo, a humanist and canon of Padua, and is now an architectural jewel of that era. The villa is surrounded by a centuries-old park of over 9 hectares, characterized by beautiful Italian gardens and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
Living the Villa
Villa dei Vescovi has recently been restored and opened to the public with an immersive project in Renaissance history and art. The free use of the interior spaces and green areas makes it possible to experience what they call creative idleness: from reading on the sofas of the panoramic loggias, to yoga in the spaces of the garden, to contemplation walking among the rows of vines or in the orchard. But it is not only this that makes Villa dei Vescovi an unmissable destination for food and wine travelers. Living the Villa, this is the new innovative and unmissable project born with becoming a FAI asset.
A Villa in step with the times and listening to needs
Villa dei Vescovi is narrated by the voice of Marco Paolini in its new multimedia space, highlighting the value of the landscape in the past, in the present and for the future. Listening to the narrator’s voice and being able to touch what is being heard, this is the unique experience that we can have in this place.
Take a stroll to discover the different rooms, sleep in one of the two romantic attics, read comfortably in the cool loggias overlooking the vineyards, rest sun-kissed on the Italian-style lawns, indulge in a good local wine while sitting on the terrace of the Bistrò. What more could you ask for?
Events at the Villa
Summer offers us even more reasons to visit Villa dei Vescovi. Here are the events proposed this year:
- Wednesdays in the Vineyard – from June to the end of August, every Wednesday, the Bistrò Villa dei Vescovi will move to the Villa’s vineyard to admire the sunset and the stars while sipping wine and cocktails with some of the chef’s appetizers.
- Happy Hour in Villa – from June to the end of August, every Saturday, there will be a special evening opening with the opportunity to discover the Villa at sunset and enjoy an aperitif on the terrace.
- Sunrise in Villa – on Sunday 16th of June, 7th of July and 25th of August, the steps of the lemons at Villa dei Vescovi will host three special events, at first light, for a total wellness immersion in nature.
- With eyes to the sky. Dinner with Galileo – a special guided tour with an in-depth look at the Paduan Renaissance and the figure of Galileo Galilei in the city of Padova. Followed by a dinner under the stars on the terrace with a local menu.
