The first open-air cinema was created in Berlin around 1916 and it has since gained increasing popularity, becoming a summer must. With the marvelous setting that our beloved Euganean Hills give us, one could not fail to take advantage of it to make the outdoor cinema experience unique. Hence, in 2001 the Euganea Film Festival was born, itinerant, for sustainability, with venues within easy reach of the AbanoRitz.
Euganea Film Festival in its 22nd edition
The Euganea Film Festival kicks off its 22nd edition focusing on the relationship between society and the environment. In a climatic period, such as the one we are currently experiencing, sustainability and culture lead us to reflect. A fascinating journey that explores everyone’s sense of belonging, from silent films of the past to imaginings of possible futures.
The Euganea Film Festival is sustainable
For several editions now, the Euganea Film Festival has been promoting sustainability both by trying to raise public and staff awareness and in the choice of screenings. The films usually deal with environmental themes or the relationship between man and the environment. In addition, the organization offers a gadget to those arriving by public transport or bicycle to the screening locations, and e-bikes can be hired for the duration of the event.
How can one project in a sustainable manner?
Easy for the Euganea Film Festival, which has chosen to realize all screenings with Solar Cinema: a project exclusive to this event. A van with solar panels that accumulates energy to play the films in total autonomy.
Sustainable food at the Euganea Film Festival
The food trucks at the Euganea Film Festival feature local products and use biodegradable glasses, plates and cutlery.
“The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a common interest; it is the one thing we all share.”
