The Venice Carnival

The Venice Carnival is one of the most iconic events in the world: masks, costumes, streets that become stages, parties in historic palaces, and water shows. From Abano, Venice is easily reached by train or car in less than an hour.

This is where the AbanoRitz becomes a strategic and refined choice: staying here allows you to enjoy the magic of Venice while maintaining the comfort, tranquility, and elegance of a historic spa hotel, far from the hustle and bustle and costs of the lagoon city.

The 2026 Venice Carnival will take place from January 31st to February 17th, with a packed calendar of events, shows, and installations. This edition celebrates the Olympic year with the theme “Olympus – The Origins of the Game,” a tribute to the universal power of play. The theme draws inspiration from both classical mythology and ancient Venetian festivals, where feats of skill, acrobatics, and folk performances enlivened the streets and squares like veritable “Olympics” for the Serenissima.

The weekend of February 7th–8th will be the highlight of the Carnival, with festive atmospheres, masks, and moments of urban performance; February 16th–17th will be the final days of the event, concluding with Mardi Gras, featuring shows, allegorical parades, and cultural events.
