For “food waste” we mean the not consumed food, which is therefore unfortunately thrown away. It is a very sensitive subject in modern debates and it has now become an integral part of policies.
Since several years has entered in the common thought the idea of “doggy-bag“, literally “the tub for the dog” (which is almost never for the dog, ed); often at the restaurant or pizzeria we may order more than what our stomach can contain and automatically we advance food: we eat “with the eyes”. But why to throw away edible food? Just ask for a “doggy-bag” to bring home what can be the dinner of our four-legged friend or our lunch in the office for the next day. Easy, isn’t it?!
The anti-waste law was approved by the Chamber and Senate in 2016 and provides precisely in “rules for the limitation of waste, the conscious use of resources and environmental sustainability“.
Since always at the AbanoRitz we have paid special attention to ecology, just think about our geothermal heating system already used in 1967, the year of the opening of the Hotel. Having three different restaurants and two bars, no matter how we try to be careful, the “food waste” is unfortunately inevitable. From today we decided to react by adhering as partner to the platform TooGoodToGo that allows the low cost sale of the unsold food (but still very good!), so an original purchase of lunch-paquet or a great solution for those who do not want to get on the stove on the way back at home.
There is nothing that cannot be solved with a smile and some good food. We are waiting for you then, in order to try our kitchen!
