On Tuesday, May 14, the first edition of the National Landscape Day will be held, wanted by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism. There will be over 120 cultural initiatives organized throughout Italy with the aim of promoting landscape culture and raising awareness of the issues and values of the Italian territories.
The initiatives
Over the course of the day, the Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape Superintendencies will open their doors to the public, in order to raise awareness and reflect on the theme, while the MiBACT’s museums will offer visitors meetings and insights focused on works of the collections depicting landscapes. Numerous libraries and archives have displayed maps that tell about the evolution of cities, while archaeological areas have proposed specific thematic paths.
To promote the day, a video was also produced by the Experimental Center of Cinematography in Rome, together with the social media campaign #paesaggioitaliano on the official accounts of MiBACT and RadioTre Rai.
