Wintertime, with short days and few hours of natural light, increases the risk of suffering of “winter blues“, a seasonal depression caused by climate changing and, particularly, reduction of light. Exhaustion, nervousness and sadness, sleep problems and difficulty in concentration: these are the main symptoms caused by the decreasing of natural light, that disturbs the mood, too.
Fighting the Winter Blues
Luminotherapy is an effective way to fight these symptoms and, mostly in the Nordic countries, it gave excellent results against the seasonal depression. Beurer, German firm leader in the health and wellness sector, released a dedicated set of products and presents its new Day Light Lamp TL100, an actual certified medical device.
Easy to use (it can be controlled also LightUp – free app for iOS and Android), it can simulate both the natural sun light and the indoor atmospheric light, with a chromatic variation of 256 colors. The lamp features a clean design, LED light technology and an intensity of 10.000 Lux. Lightness can be choosen among 10 different setting and fixed with the “memory” option.
According to the National Health Service, in order to significally improve the symptoms of the winter blues, the light treatment should be done every morning for 30-60 minutes.
