On Sunday, July 30 from 6 pm, Viaggiare Curiosi and Euganean Wine Road organize a sunset walk to discover the beautiful Castle of Lispida in Monselice. An opportunity to escape the warmth of the city, enjoy the cool breeze of the Hills and learn the history of the Castle.

The program

Through a simple path, suitable for adults and children, you will discover the territory around the Castle. Lispida, in fact, was a place of interest already in ancient times, thanks to the trachytic quarries: with the precious Euganean stone was paved also St. Mark’s Square in Venice! In addition, the presence of a thermal pond near the estate creates a particular microclimate that allows the production of very valuable wines.

Other points of interest in the area are the Valli Selvatiche of Battaglia Terme, an area of ​​great natural and enviromental interest, and the so-called “Retratto di Monselice“, an ambitious reclamation project that has redesigned the territory between Battaglia Terme and Este in the second half of the fifteenth century.

Thanks to the guidance of a passionate geographer, during the walk you will discover curiosities and stories of the Castle and its surroundings. The appointment will end with a final toast in the shade of the ancient wine cellar.

How to attend

The meeting point is Lispida Castle, at 6pm. The conclusion is scheduled for 7.30pm. The cost of the walk is 15 €, children under 12 pay 7 €. The fee includes participation in the walk with tour guide, 1 glass of wine and technical organization.

The walk will take place mainly on country roads, so it is recommended to wear comfortable footwear, suitable for the ground. In case of bad weather, the excursion could be changed or canceled.
