In the Euganean Hills<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, golf is not simply a sporting activity set in greenery, but a form of complex territorial design in which landscape architecture, botany, and art history engage in dialogue with the technical gesture of the game. The courses of Golf Club Padova, Golf della Montecchia, and ASD Golf Club Frassanelle represent three different interpretations of this dialogue: three ways of shaping the land, selecting tree species, and relating to a cultural heritage that, in these places, predates the very origins of golf by centuries. All three are located just a few kilometers from the AbanoRitz<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

In the case of Golf della Montecchia<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, the original design by architect Tom Macauley developed a 27-hole course characterized by subtle yet continuous movement. This approach aims to create technical challenges through the strategic placement of water hazards and morphological variations, rather than through pronounced artificial elevation changes. Here, tree and shrub species are selected not only for their aesthetic value but also for their resistance to clay soils and their ability to regulate soil moisture, improving playability in all seasons.<\/p>\n

At Golf Club Frassanelle<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, designed in 1990 by Marco Croze, the technical layout takes on a more \u201clandscape-oriented\u201d character: the course integrates into the historic park of the Papafava Estate almost camouflaging itself, using existing clearings, woods, and bodies of water to generate complex and visually harmonious lines of play. The famous 15th hole, with its island green surrounded by water, is an emblematic example of how a technical solution can emerge from a pre-existing natural feature. For Golf Club Padova, this continuity is symbolized by the Labyrinth of Villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, one of the most renowned examples of symbolic Baroque gardens in Europe. The labyrinth is not merely a tourist attraction, but a metaphor for the game of golf itself: a sequence of choices, deviations, and returns requiring orientation and control.<\/p>\n
