The October 4th concert: International Trio

Flute – Violin – Piano

 

Thursday, October 4, at 9 pm, we start again with the great concert season in Sala degli Specchi dell’AbanoRitz with three world-famous musicians.

In collaboration with Gli Amici della Musica di Udine and the partner of our Professional Voice Center, Klyo Music, a sound event will be proposed with music by Piazzolla, Ibert, Bach and Szymanowski.

With Luisa Sello on the flute and the two masters Bruno Canino on the piano, and the Japanese violinist Takashi Shimizu we will have the pleasure of giving us an evening – just like the true meaning of the term – in total harmony, accompanied by the classic notes of the great composers.

 

Luisa Sello defined by the New York Concert Review artist from the ‘compelling passion and spontaneous cantabile, with brilliant technique, excellent breath control, generous sound and great charm’ sounds all over the world and is an artist chosen by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage to represent the Italian music. Flautist of the international scene, with intense solo activity in Europe, Far East, United States and South America. Her curriculum includes the names of Riccardo Muti, Trevor Pinnock, Alirio Diaz, Wiener Symphoniker, Carnegie Hall, Juilliard School, Philippe Entremont, Quartetto Prazak, Thailand Symphony Orchestra, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Salvatore Sciarrino, Bruno Canino. Student of Raymond Guiot in Paris and Severino Gazzelloni at the Accademia Chigiana of Siena, with academic studies in Flute and in Modern Languages ​​and Literatures (Degree and PhD), she is the professor of flute at the Conservatory of Trieste and visiting professor at the University of Vienna. A testimonial artist of Miyazawa Flute, she recorded for Stradivarius and Millennium in Beijing.

 

 

Takashi Shimizu began studying the violin at the age of 6 and at 9 he won the All Japan Student Violin Competition, after which he made his television debut with the NHK Symphony Orchestra for the wedding of Prince H.I.M. Hitachi. At the age of 17 he won a scholarship at the University of Southern California under the guidance of Jascha Heifetz, then continued his studies with Auclair and Neaman. He has won various prizes in major competitions such as Jacques Thibaud, Carl Flesch, Granada, and Queen Elisabeth. He also dedicated himself to chamber music playing alongside Argerich, Menuhin, Fou Ts’ong, Gitlis, Gililov, Rudin and Maisky. In the last winter season he was invited to play with various orchestras in Japan, Romania, Ukraine, Korea and Italy. He recorded the greatest masterpieces of Brahms, Saint-Saens and Wieniawsky with the London Symphony Orchestra and also some Sonatas for Solo Violin and the Partite by J.S.Bach, the 24 Capricci by Paganini, the Sonatas for violin by Prokofief. He is professor of the Tokyo National University Faculty.

 

 

Bruno Canino recognized as one of the greatest chamber musicians and pianists of our time, he studied piano with Vincenzo Vitale and composition with Bruno Bettinelli at the Conservatory of Naples. Distinguished immediately in the international competitions of Bolzano and Darmstadt, he began a long concert career all over the world with artists such as Cathy Barberian, Severino Gazzelloni, Salvatore Accardo, Viktoria Mullova. He attended the modern and contemporary repertoire with particular diligence. Among his most important recordings are the Goldberg Variations by Bach, the integral of the piano work by Casella and the debut solo piano by Debussy on cd. He was a piano teacher at the Milan Conservatory and at the Hochschule in Bern. He regularly holds courses in musical institutions all over the world. He is currently a chamber music teacher with piano at the School of Fiesole and at the Escuela Reina Sofia in Madrid. He also worked as artistic director and in 1999-2002 he was musical director of the Venice Biennale.
