On Saturday, July 15, 2017, the town of Monselice hosts “Calici sotto le stelle“, a wine, food and cultural experience under the stars. The event, this year at the eleventh edition, will liven up the streets of the city from 7pm onwards.
It will be a night of astronomy, music, dance, poetry, direct observation of the moon and planets, wine tastings and various entertainments. Many events will take place in an extraordinary natural and architectural setting: the Colle della Rocca in Monselice.
The program will feature dance shows, gong bath sessions, museum late openings, guided tours of Villa Pisani, Castle, San Paolo Museum, ancient Pieve di Santa Giustina and Oratorio di S. Giorgio.
At the Castle there will be a conference with Professor Cesare Barbieri, Professor of Astronomy at the University of Padua, on the theme “The search for extraterrestrial life”. There will be also a walk from Villa Duodo to the Mastio federiciano, on the top of the hill, with an animated guide. Then again concerts, plays and performances in the parterre of Villa Duodo and of course wine tastings.
The project intends to combine scientific dissemination and promotion of the local historical identity, aimed at the development of the city from a scientific, cultural, tourist-environmental and economic-productive point of view. Throughout the evening, food excellences of the area will be proposed, from goose burger to goat cheese, from bread to Veneto Berico Euganeo ham to the excellent DOC wines of our territory.
