Volcanic Wines on the Euganean Hills

vulcanei

Volcanic Wines is an association that, since 2012, gathers the 15 Italian viniculture territories distinguished by a volcanic soil: Campi Flregrei, Colli Euganei, Etna, Frascati, Gambellara, Ischia e Capri, Lessini, Lucania, Mogoro, Orvieto, Pantelleria, Pitigliano e Sovana, Soave, Tuscia, Vesuvio. During the first four years, the Association has been able to create a network among almost all these territories and it points out that some of them are also protected green areas, regional (such as the Euganean Hills) or national parks.

The Euganean Hills area features also a wider surface of certified organic crop than the regional average. This could lead the territory to achieve the admission to Unesco’s Biosphere Reserves.

Vulcanei” is an event that will take place on the 21st and 22nd May 2016 in the amazing Castello del Catajo, a sixteen-century manor a few kilometres away from the AbanoRITZ Hotel. Around thirty of the best Euganian wine producers, together with other italian and european producers, will be part of the event. The guests will have the chance to taste great wines and typical products and also visit the most ancient and renowned rooms of the castle.

Admission fee: 14€.
