AbanoRitz will host the Zadra 2018 Award

Ninth edition for the INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION “FAUSTO ZADRA” – ABANO TERME. For the days from 12 to 15 September 2018 Professor Achille Gallo, pianist and artistic director – as well as international founder of the competition, welcomes all future participating pianists from around the world, which AbanoRitz will host with immense pleasure.

The exhibition will take place in the Sala degli Specchi, the Venetian-style hall that has always hosted the most prestigious musical meetings and events organized in the hotel and where the beautiful grand piano Steinway will be the protagonist..

The program of the event has been structured with only two rounds: the eliminatory and the final. The invitation to participate in this wonderful competition is open to all musicians up to the age of 36, there is no minimum age limit.
Participation is free and the pianists have until August 20 to submit the application form. In addition, during the event a special price will be reserved for competitors to stay here at the hotel.

The prizes and the jury

 

Recalling the winner of the first prize of the last eighth edition, the South Korean Jackie Jaekyung Yoo, we report again this year the three important prizes that will be awarded to the first three winners:

1st PRIZE € 8000,00
It consists of a cash prize of € 4500,00 + € 3500,00 of value for a record contract with XClassics Records, with the registration of a digital CD whose distribution will take place in the major music stores worldwide. Also included are two concerts in Italy in the 2018/2019 concert season: a concert for Friends of Music in Galatina (Foggia) and a concert for the Park des Dolomites Music Festival (Cortina) with two years of free promotion.

2nd PRIZE € 1000,00 prize money

3rd PRIZE € 500,00 prize in cash

An international jury panel will evaluate the musicians and final decisions will be given to the Norwegian president, international pianist and professor, Tori Stødle.

Tori, “Top of the World’s” International Piano Competition, is an internationally renowned artistic director and pianist, with CDs being released on her behalf and hundreds of concerts performed around the world.

Her Majesty the King of Norway also praised her efforts by naming her a First Class Knight of the Norwegian Royal Order of St. Olav for her contributions to the Norwegian cultural scene. Starting as a student of Mary Barratt Due and Robert Riefling in Oslo, Tori continued to study with Professor Jürgen Uhde at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart and later with the legendary Adele Marcus, in New York. Since then she has held concerts, master classes and conferences in Europe, Russia and the United States. She also takes part as a member of the jury in international piano competitions.

In New York he gave a recital of classes at Juilliard and at the Manhattan School of Music. Tori has presented numerous Norwegian operas dedicated to her worldwide and has received numerous awards and prizes. After her New York debut at Carnegie Hall in 1990, James R. Ostreich of the New York Times wrote: “She is a superbly refined miniaturist, able to create small worlds of color and poetry with exquisite nuance of dynamics and sentence formation”. Tori is piano professor at the Conservatory of Music, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tromsø, Arctic University of Norway. In 2013 she published a DVD presenting the technical regime of Adele Marcus. She is also a Steinway artist.
